Would Dog Appeasing Pheromone have any affects on cats?

I know it isn't designed for cats and there is a cat one available (Feliway) but i have a DAP diffuser and would like to know if it will have any calming affects on my cats as i have just got a new kitten and my two older cats aren't particularly friendly towards it. They aren't overly aggressive just hissing and running away sort of thing
