Please help if you can: the time(hour & minute)stated in the incoming&outgoing emails is no longer correct..?

All emails seem to have been sent/received at strange time of the night, i.e. 3am or so. Has anybody ever incurred in the same problem and knows how to set the system back to its correct time? Thank you
