How to scrunch fine long hair?

okay so i have really fine (slightly dry) hair. i try to scrunch it but the dry sides just frizz and look kinda bad. i use tresemme moose and i use a diffuser. it looks fine for like 10 minutes then it looks bad. any ideas on how to help?? thanks!
