Help with newly adopted skittish cats?

My girlfriend and I just got 2 cats, about 2 years old, from a shelter about 2 weeks ago and they have pretty much grown up in the shelter. We started them out in a smaller room to help with the transition and then let them have the basement to explore. We got a feliway diffuser and feliway spray for the basement and their blankets and beds. They are very very skittish and will let us pet them if we entice them with a string toy first but if we move they scatter and if we talk they wont let us pet them and will either hide or stare at us from a distance. They both are dying to be petted but are still uneasy with us. I understand that it has been only 2 weeks since we got them and that this is a huge transition for them but I was wondering if there is anything else we can do to help them with this transition and be more comfortable with us?

Ok I have a 10 gallon freshwater aquarium, and I was wanting to make the move to saltwater but first I want to make sure I can care for something other than fish. Do you have experience with baby red eared sliders in outdoor ponds?

We have 2 baby RES's. About an inch or so long. We have had them for 3 days, and put them in our 500 gal. outdoor pond. They really haven't eaten that much at all. We take them out twice a day to feed them in a rubbermaid container. The only reason we take them out is 1. to see if they are actually eating, and 2. if we just place the food in the water, my goldfish eat it. We offered them commercial turtle food, as well as bits of squash and carrots, and a half dead minnow. We have only seen them take a nip from the commercial food. They weren't even interested in the fish. I'm wondering if we should even continue to take them out or just put the food in the water and hope they are getting something. The reason I wonder this is because I'm wondering if it's stressful for them for us to catch them and remove them from the pond. One of them stays in the water all the time. The other one climbs out on a big rock we have provided for them. I am worried that at least the one is not getting the basking time it needs, and if we should put them in the container with a basking light. Wondering if that might help the eating. I don't know. So obviously, any and all suggestions are more than welcome as we learn how to take care of these little ones.

I have 2 cats but my problem is with one. We have to litter boxes in open areas. They go poo in the boxes but rarely pee. I guess you can say this is several questions rolled into one. My company is trying to have Quickbooks Pro 2011 on more than one computer while keeping costs down as it is only a 1 user license. One idea was to move the program with the license to the server along with the company file where the computers in the network can access the file remotely. The biggest worry is multiple computers accessing the file at the same time and any problems that may incur between the two. First off, you want to use a really good conditioning mask. Hair is dull when your cuticle isn't lying flat and your hair absorbs the light as opposed to reflecting it. I like the L'Oreal Professional Absolut Repair mask or Biolage by Matrix Strengthening masque. Use it every time you shower, and leave it on for 5-10 minutes in the shower. Make sure there's some steam action going on because heat helps with deep conditioners. Also, try to avoid using heat. If you absolutely have to use a blowdryer, use a leave in conditioner and then cocktail a serum and a gel and run it through your hair. Mist it after adding the product so your curl can reform. Then diffuse on the lowest speed your dryer has and use the medium heat (if your dryer doesn`t have medium heat, use the high heat but make sure to blowdry it upside down). There are also a lot of shine sprays on the market- Garnier has an awesome one that makes your hair super shiny. Hope this helps!

I have curlyish hair...it's not super curly, but when I go to the beach the humidity makes it frizzy and poofy all over...not my best look. you sholdn't really spend your money on a 10 gallon tank. I have 2 red eared slider turtles who in a tank now my father and i are making an out door pond with a cage for them for shelter. It has cinder blocks all around and a broken rabit hutch for shelter. All we need to do right now is dig a hole in the ground and put a bowel of water so my turtles can swim and they'll have a place to rest and sun bathe. The sun's heat is better for them than a heating lamp. Turtle's always need a place to rest not only for warmth and sun light but for their health too. Turtles who live too much in water and have no resting place or light could get sick or shell rot. They could even get a pyramid shell which can never go away. My turtles are girls and came from a terrible pet store. We found dents and scratches on their shells from being thrown around by cruel people. Keep in mind that the boy turtles have longer claws than the girls. So if your going to use my advise and build one out doors make sure it's secure enough for her not to get out or preditors to get in. Turtles need alot of love and affection, like if they start to climb around the sides near you it means the want attenion. Turtles are knida picky when it comes to eating. They can eat worms, meal worms, and rod flooding sticks. If you have a special food that you give her make sure it's small or big enough for her to swallow it and once in awile give her meal worms as a snack for nutrions. She stated that there were charges that were shown in her records that were outstanding back in 2008. We tried to explain to her that we hadn't bought the house until 2009 (which she tried to claim we had lived there since 2008) and that any charges due before our closing were paid by the responsible party (which would have been a bank because it was a foreclosure). We also told her that when we had spoken to the management company (before they were terminated by the new association board), that they had also told us that there was no outstanding balance. Are we legally responsible to pay this amount from 2008? Can the homeowners association come at us legally for charges that incurred before we owned the home? Who do we need to speak to or to get records that this was already paid? I've looked through our closing paperwork and all I have been able to find is a faxed invoice to the bank for the amount due. I don't think that we should be legally responsible for fees that incurred before we bought the house! Help please!

I used to have two pomeranians. Zeneth and Zorro. They were really attached to each other. They had puppies together and the male, Zorro, guarded Zeneth and the pups and even brought her food. Last winter Zorro passed on in his sleep and Zeneth led me too him. When I buried him, she saw me and would not let me touch her for a week. She still goes out to his grave and visits him. She isn't even allowed in the room with my chihuahua. Her eyes turn solid black and she starts breathing hard and you just know she's about to kill. Is this because Zorro died? She still looks for him when we say his name.

Hi, a rodent ulcer is an ulcer that won't heal for some reason and if I were you I'd get a 2nd opinion. Two lots of steroids is excessive in a young cat, did the vet take blood tests and urine samples? If he didn't he should have because the ulcers may be the result of an allergy or a skin mite, cleared easily with shampoo or dry powder. If they're very sore and or open, try dabbing some Sudocreme on them every few hours and see if that helps, it's used for humans and is very effective, lots of people use it for babies nappy rash! Mind your furniture though as it's greasy and can leave marks. Good luck x

My cat is peeing on random things and I've tried everything.?

Okay so I have a fixed four-five year old cat that is still people on our clothes, rugs and carpets in the kitchen, laundry room, and half bath all next to each other. This is an ongoing problem that we've had since shortly after moving here in 2008. It started as him peeing on and around vents in the carpeted dining room, eventually peeing on every inch of carpet in there. We switched that room out to laminate floors, and upon pulling up the carpet in that room we found out that a large animal had previously used that room for a bathroom before we moved in. This kept him at bay for 3-4 weeks until we noticed him starting to pee on and around the vent in our carpeted living room nearest the dining room. Although the frequency was serverely less than before. 1-2 times every couple of weeks that we could catch and clean within hours. We changed this floor out to laminate as well and it kept him at bay for a couple of weeks. Now he's peeing in the ktichen, laundry room (where the litter boxes are) and the downstairs half bath. All tile. He's now peeing on rugs, carpets, and clothes. Basically anything left on the tile floor or on the kitchen side of the living room. We have spent hundreds of dollars on vet bills to check for problems, he recently had a UTI which we've gotten rid of but he's still peeing on stuff. We've also spent hundreds on Feliway diffusers and sprays. Which seem to work for the five feet around the area i used them on. But I'm afraid to put them into the problem areas for fear that he'll just move back to peeing in the living room. My wife thinks our four year indoor cat should become an indoor/outdoor cat which I'm completely opposed to since our neighbor lets their dog run without a leash and people drive highway speeds into their driveways. I am out of ideas.

My hair naturally is wavy. Okay so I got this Syoss Curl Control mousse for taming the frizziness of my curly hair. I will wash my hair tomorrow and use it and i have a few questions. I usually have to put cream in my hair so that it doesn't dry out and from what i've heard this mousse does make your hair a little dry so should I put cream before or after the mousse? Yes you should be using a diffuser for scrunching. I don't know what that mousse you use is, but I would buy a good antifrizz serum (bedhead makes good ones) and put a decent amount in your wet hair before you start scrunching.

My cat is losing weight, but eats fine. Why?

He not only loses .2 ounces DAILY, but he won't drink water. He doesn't have any discoloration of his gums. We took him to the veterinarian for some tests, and he has absolutely NOTHING wrong with him. There's no kidney infection (which would explain the loss of thirst), and he doesn't have worms. The veterinarian says the other two cats we have were "bullying" him, so to speak, which is completely normal among cats. He said that because of the "bullying" the cat is merely stressed out and needs some time to recuperate since he's in a weak state at the moment. We now keep him in a room separate from the other two cats. He has his own litter box, food, water, and a feline diffuser which releases pheromones into the air which calm him down. I'm not sure if he's still losing weight because we just started this routine of him staying by himself, or if there is a bigger problem. Any ideas?

I have naturally curly hair and I definately share your pain. The best way to keep it from sticking out and loosing up at the ends is to get a haircut that has some layer ad removes some of the bulk from the bottom. The thing with curly hair is if you try to make it lay flat if won't but if you just let it do what it wants it'll work out the best. It has a mind of its own.

In case future employer drops health insurance (Obama care)..should I negotiate salary increase to offset?

I am interviewing for a new company in Florida. I saw on the news that as many as 30% of employers plan to drop group health insurance when the Health Reform Act kicks in. I have this two baby turtle, they are so cute and this expensive Beautiful rare beta yellow cost me $11.00 it had a flowing yellow fin soooo beautiful and 4 small shrimps 25 cent and two small frogs with plants, it was about two weeks. I turn to look at the Beautiful flowing yellow fin beta and there in horror was only the Beautiful yellow fin flowing, with no body! The turtles or monster eat the beta a week later I couldn't see the shrimp not one. The turtle had to have eaten them all left is the frogs, two small frogs, that been in there for months. There is this girl that I am 99% sure likes me. And she doesn't hide the fact, she's a god damn stalker. And she's not even funny or anything, she's just so awkward around me, it's kind of creepy! Fixing headset? will this work?

I have a turtle beach earforce x 11 headset for xbox360. The wires were cut clean in half near the actual headset, so If i cant fix it they are junk. If I strip the wires a bit, and then find each individual wireset (there are 4 wires (each surrounded in copper) in the black coating) and sauter them together individually, will they work? or should I do something like splice each one with a dual connector? the problem with that is the bundle would be HUGE compared to normal, but if it works is that a possibility? Turtle Beach Ear Force PX21 Sound Problems?

I've got a turtle beach ear force px21 head set and the sound is completely messed up and distorted after having it for only 3 months. The microphone works fine though. I wasn't rough with it and I've never stepped on it by accident or anything else like that. My brother and I use it a lot so if that has anything to do with it for both the PS3 and the PC. When it comes to storing it I just set it beside the PS3 or PC with the wires kind of bunched up together since its a really long cable.. I'm getting it replaced because its still under warranty so I was wondering if the headset just messed up from general use, but 3 months of it working seems like a very crappy value for a $70 headset, or is the thing just cheaply made?

Scrunching hair without being crunchy...?

I use the same type of mousse as you and had that problem too. I had always heard to put the mousse in your hair when it was wet then diffuse etc.. but it left my hair crunchy. One day for fun I tried it on my dry hair, scrunched then twisted pieces and it left it a lot less crunchy believe it or not. I also reccomend marakesh oil in wet hair to prevent frizz - it works wonders.

If you read the back of the mousse bottle it actually says to use the diffuser after you apply the mousse so yes you cann! But for me it really doesn't even make a big difference so yeah.

I found out that many singaporeans are eating turtles as their dinner and lunch dishes.. most popular eaten turtles are eared eared sliders, soft shelled turtles, and even snake head turtles.. i went to many markets in singapore, and was shocked to find that turtles that are sold for restaurant tables are mostly found in the town side of singapore, like chinatown.. when i got to a market near chinatown, i saw many juvenile or roughly big red eared sliders kept in cages..each cage containing at least 10 to 20 live red eared sliders. the space was seriously cramped. the soft shelled turtles are all stuffed into ann empty pail, all waiting to be sold or killed on the spot. what shocked me most was when i saw the man selling them just use a knife and a sharp metal equipment cutting open the shell of a red eared slider, and digging and slicing the flesh out of a live red eared slider, while it just screeched and groaned in pain... this was consequently done the same to other turtles, frogs and fishes that were sold there.. i just cannot bear to see these people doing things like this just to satisfy their eating needs.. there are so many things they could eat, but why must they purposely breed turtles and other creatures just to kill and eat them? the reason they give is that the population of these creatures are overly populated, so they have to reduce the number of these creatures.. but seriously, they are the ones that breed them out of greed! please give me your views, thanks.

I just graduated college and attended a conference to present my work with the man I have been working with for last two and a half years. My parents will be emotionally devastated if I become a boxer, but it is the only field that gives me motivation to relieve my emotional frustrations. I am currently taking multiple AP and honor classes, but I have trouble concentrating in class; therefore, my grades are merely satisfactory. So, from an educational view point, I am a hopeless loser being a senior--starting from August--in high school. I have decided to become a boxer or an MMA fighter after high school, and to attempt to specialize in pertinent fields. From a practical outlook, I will probably incur significant brain damage from the career and will be a destitute. But I want to fight and survive on loans and fight pays during my initial young years. And when my physique will wean because of age, I will commit suicide via drug intake. Honestly, my fickle belief in God changes based on my amount of positive perceptions of life.
